The Garage S is easy to mistake for a Navimow mower because retailer listings lead with a procession of compatible model names. What arrives is much simpler: a fitted roof that sits over the robot and its dock. Anyone shopping for the machine itself should start with the Navimow i110N review instead.

As a shelter, it gets the fundamentals right. It covers the parked mower, charging connections and part of the approach area; the structure is purpose-shaped for docking; and the roof lifts when the buttons on top need attention. Owners consistently like the fit, appearance and straightforward assembly. They are much less enthusiastic about paying a premium price for a passive cover.

That price objection is not nitpicking. The compatible mower is already built to operate outdoors, so Garage S is preventive shelter rather than required equipment. It reduces direct exposure while the mower spends hours parked, but it does not unlock a feature, improve a cut or turn an unsuitable charging location into a good one.

A roof that understands the machine beneath it

The official design earns its advantage through integration. Garage S fits the i105N, i110N, i206 AWD and i210 AWD, leaving the intended path into the charger clear instead of asking the owner to estimate width, height and wheel clearance. That confidence is worth something when the mower must reverse precisely onto electrical contacts.

Compatibility should not be stretched beyond those named models. The i215 LiDAR and the larger H and X families use differently sized shelters, despite sharing the Navimow badge. X430 and X450 owners need the larger accessory covered in our Navimow Garage X review, not this one.

The hinge is the feature a homemade roof can miss

A low fixed canopy shades a mower perfectly well until a button needs pressing. Garage S avoids that irritation by lifting out of the way, so the control panel remains reachable while the mower is docked. The opening action also makes cleaning or inspecting the top of the machine less awkward.

The closed roof hides the colored status ring, which is the clearest day-to-day compromise after price. Status remains available through the app or by lifting the cover, but the mower can no longer be checked with a glance across the yard. People bothered by its bright nighttime lights may consider the same obstruction a benefit.

Assembly is simple, but stability still depends on installation

The package includes two Allen keys plus screws, bolts and fasteners, and the dominant owner experience is quick, uncomplicated assembly. The hardware matters because this is not a structure to place loosely over the charger and trust in the wind.

One owner reported a top-heavy installation that would not remain upright and wondered whether parts were missing. That isolated complaint does not outweigh the broader pattern of stable, sturdy installations, but it supplies a useful warning: inventory every fastener on arrival and regard the garage as secure only after it has been anchored exactly as instructed.

It protects the hours spent parked, not the hours spent mowing

The roof provides credible overhead protection from direct sun, ordinary rain, leaves, twigs and dirt while the mower is charging. It can also keep the dock connections and approach pad drier. Those are modest benefits, but they occur during the machine’s normal resting position and therefore matter every day.

The structure remains open at the sides. Wind-driven water can enter, and the mower will carry moisture and grass debris beneath the roof after cutting. Garage S is not a sealed shed, a security enclosure or an excuse to stop cleaning the robot.

Direct sun makes the strongest case for ownership. Shade reduces the mower’s solar exposure without requiring a risky promise about battery life. There are no useful comparative measurements here showing cooler component temperatures, fewer failures or extra years of service, so the honest claim ends at reduced exposure.

Rain alone is a weaker argument because the compatible i105N and i110N are IP66 machines designed for outdoor operation. The garage adds shelter to an already weather-resistant product; it does not supply the mower’s baseline ability to live outside. It is also irrelevant when a sudden shower catches the robot halfway across the lawn.

Signal compatibility does not relax placement rules

Navimow designed Garage S not to obstruct the compatible mower’s signals or connectivity, and the available garage-specific owner feedback does not reveal a recurring interference problem. This is a meaningful advantage over improvising with an unknown structure around radio-dependent equipment.

The roof cannot create a clear satellite view, extend Wi-Fi or correct a poorly positioned antenna. The dock still needs a suitable location and a flat, firmly secured base. Putting Garage S beneath a deck or tight against a building merely trades weather exposure for the possibility of reception and docking trouble.

Well executed, badly priced

The research behind this review repeatedly captured Garage S at the same premium price point across retailers, which places it closer to a deliberate equipment purchase than a casual accessory. The premium is particularly difficult beside the smaller compatible mowers, where the roof represented a substantial fraction of the original machine cost.

What that money buys is certainty and convenience: known fit, a docking-safe opening, included mounting hardware, coordinated appearance, hinged control access and a design intended to preserve connectivity. Garage S beats a crude fixed cover on every one of those details.

A carefully built canopy beats Garage S on value. Basic shade and overhead rain protection do not require factory branding, and owner experience shows that an inexpensive homemade shelter can work. The builder assumes responsibility for clearance, anchoring, drainage, airflow and signal behavior, which is precisely the work the official accessory charges to remove.

The available evidence stops before severe weather

Garage-specific owners describe sturdy construction, secure fit and survival through ordinary rain and wind. One account also reports an uneventful winter. That is encouraging evidence for normal use, not a published wind rating, snow-load certification or promise that the hinge will remain unchanged over many seasons.

There is no dependable record here for long-term UV fading, brittleness, water pooling, fasteners loosening or resistance to heavy falling branches. There is also no confirmed accessory-specific warranty term. Buyers in snow country should not treat the roof as winter storage, and buyers in exposed windy sites should give the anchoring instructions more weight than the product’s substantial appearance.

The garage does not eliminate maintenance. Grass clippings, mud and moisture still arrive beneath it on the mower’s wheels and deck, while leaves can collect around an open-sided dock. Its contribution is less direct exposure, not a clean or climate-controlled environment.
